Suspected gunmen on Sunday abducted a passenger and robbed several others along the Katsina-Ala–Takum road in Taraba State.

Zagazola  gathered that the incident occurred at about 12 noon at Dogo Gawa village when the attackers, numbering about four, emerged from a bush path and blocked a commercial vehicle.

The vehicle, a blue Toyota Corolla with registration number GBK 216 HG, was conveying six passengers, including one woman, from Katsina-Ala, Benue State, to Takum, Taraba State.

The gunmen reportedly took over the steering and diverted the car into the forest, where they dispossessed the passengers of cash, mobile phones, and other valuables before abducting one male passenger whose identity is yet to be ascertained.

Security forces in Takum said a patrol team, alongside local hunters and vigilantes, immediately combed the surrounding bush in search of the abductee.

The sources confirmed that efforts were ongoing to rescue the victim and apprehend the perpetrators.
