Gunmen abduct two miners in Niger community

At least two miners were  abducted by gunmen at Kangon-Inga village in Katako District of Rafi Local Government Area in Niger state.

 

Sources said that hoodlums stormed a mining site in the village on Aug. 27 at about 4:30 p.m. and kidnapped two persons identified as Gora Alhaji Mai-Mota and Gora Alhaji Mani, both residents of Ketaren-Kago village.

 

The sources said detectives visited the scene of the incident, adding that efforts were ongoing to rescue the victims and apprehend the perpetrators.

 

The authorities urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movement to security agencies for prompt response.
