Hoodlums kill one, injure another in Yobe attack

The Police Command in Yobe has confirmed the killing of an 18-year-old man and injury of another following an attack by hoodlums in Muri-Mafa Ward, Tarmuwa Local Government Area of the state.
Sources said on Friday that the incident occurred on Sept. 23 at about 8:00 p.m.
The sources said four unidentified assailants armed with cutlasses, bows and arrows stormed the residence of one Gabto Ali and attacked his son, Malam Kuru Gabto, aged 18, inflicting machete wounds on his left hand.
The hoodlums, he added, also attacked another victim, Modu Ajami, aged 20, cutting him on the head, forehead and right hand.
“Both victims sustained serious injuries and were rushed to General Hospital, Babbangida, where a medical doctor confirmed Malam Kuru Gabto dead,” the sources said.
The sources explained that the assailants fled the scene without stealing anything from the victims, adding that efforts were ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators.
