Troops of 232 Battalion (Tactical) in collaboration with other security agencies and local hunters have arrested 73 suspects during a joint raid operation on criminal hideouts in Adamawa State.

Security sources said the operation was conducted at about 3:30 p.m. on May 6 across parts of Mubi North and Mubi South Local Government Areas under Sector 4 of ongoing security operations.

The sources disclosed that the troops carried out the coordinated raid alongside personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and local hunters following intelligence reports on criminal activities within the area.

During the operation, 73 suspects were apprehended at an identified illicit drug spot believed to be frequented by criminal elements.

According to the sources, the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks, curb drug-related crimes, and enhance security within the affected communities.

The arrested suspects were subsequently handed over to relevant authorities for further investigation and necessary action.

Security agencies have continued to intensify joint operations across Adamawa and neighbouring states to combat criminality, drug abuse, and other security threats linked to insurgency and violent crimes.
