Land dispute sparks clash between Bille and Dong youths in Adamawa

Tension erupted in Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa on Tuesday following violent clashes between youths from Bille and Dong districts over a lingering land dispute.
The altercation, which broke out at about 5:30 p.m., quickly escalated into a fierce fight, leaving several persons injured, according to community sources.
Elders from both communities have intervened and are scheduled to hold a joint meeting on Wednesday aimed at resolving the dispute and preventing a recurrence.
At the time of filing this report, peace had been restored, though the situation remains tense, with residents expressing fear of possible reprisal attacks if the conflict is not resolved amicably.
