NAF Conducts Airstrikes on ISWAP/Boko Haram in Timbuktu, Mandara Mountain as Troops Fight insurgents in Damboa

The North East Theartre of Borno State has witnessed significant escalation of operations against insurgents within the past few days. the NAF component of Operation Hadin Kai conducted targeted airstrikes on January 1, effectively engaging members of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in the Timbuktu Triangle, in Borno State.
The airstrikes, executed with precision, dismantled crucial ISWAP positions and disrupted their operational capabilities.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama, that the operation resulted in the neutralization of several terrorists.
The ISWAP terrorists had established a stronghold in the Timbuktu Triangle, an area notorious for its challenging terrain and strategic importance to the insurgents.
NAF also attacked Boko Haram faction in Gwoza axis of the Mandara Mountain range in Borno State. The troops operation aimed at dismantling the terrorists group loyal to Ali Ngulde.
Meanwhile, In a troubling turn of events on the morning of January 4, ISWAP terrorists launched an attack on Nigerian troops stationed in Damboa. The attack commenced around 3 a.m. and persisted until approximately 5 a.m. In response, troops demonstrated resilience and tactical proficiency, pushing back the insurgent forces after a fierce confrontation.casualties sustained during the engagements remain unclear.
As the situation develops, further assessments will provide clarity on the impact of these operations and the continued resolve of the Nigerian Armed Forces in Operation Hadin Kai.
