NDLEA Arrests Suspects Smuggling Ammunition to Bandits in Zamfara
Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State have intercepted and arrested suspected arms couriers attempting to transport live ammunition to bandits.
The suspects were apprehended while trying to evade security checks. The operation, carried out as part of intensified efforts to curb the supply of arms and illicit substances to criminal elements, led to the recovery of live rounds of ammunition hidden in their vehicle.
“The suspects were found in possession of a significant quantity of ammunition, which they intended to deliver to armed groups,” a security official familiar with the operation said.
