A clash between farmers and herders in Enagi town, Niger State, has resulted in the death of one person and multiple injuries, security sources reported on Wednesday.
The incident occurred on 2 December 2025 at approximately 1430 hours when Ibrahim Mayema, a herder from Fulani Camp Enagi, allegedly trespassed into the farm of Alhaji Hassan with his cattle, destroying crops.
A confrontation ensued, during which Hassan sustained injuries and later died while receiving treatment at a hospital.
The incident reportedly triggered a reprisal attack by some youths from Enagi town on the Fulani settlement, resulting in unconfirmed casualties among the herders.
Security forces have since intervened, and the situation is currently under control.
Authorities are monitoring the area and conducting investigations to prevent further escalation and ensure justice for the victims.
