Three suspected bandit financiers arrested, four rustled cows recovered in Sokoto

Police  in Sokoto State have arrested three suspected financiers and informants of bandit gangs, including one Ruwa Ginyo, the Fulani head of Gidan-Madi in Tangaza Local Government Area.

 

The suspects, reportedly brokers for the Lakurawa bandits, were apprehended on 3 December 2025 at about 1400 hours while attempting to sell four rustled cows to unsuspecting buyers. 

 

Interrogation revealed that the suspects facilitated the sale of stolen cattle and remitted the proceeds to the bandits.

 

All suspects have confessed to their involvement in the crime, and investigations are ongoing to track further links and recover additional stolen property
