The Nigerian Military Troops of Operation Hadin Kai in collaboration with the Nigerien Defence Force have successfully repelled a terrorist attack on Mallamfatori, a strategic border town in Borno State.

Zagazola Makama report that the  attack, which occurred in the early hours of Thursday at about 2:30 a.m., was swiftly countered by ground troops with aerial support from the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai and surveillance input from the Nigerien Air Force.

Sources confirmed that the coordinated response led to significant casualties on the side of the terrorists, forcing them to retreat into the surrounding bush.

The intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) support provided by the Nigerien Defence Force was instrumental in guiding the troops’ decisive action against the attackers.

Mallamfatori, located near the Lake Chad Basin, remains a key security location in ongoing counter-insurgency efforts across Nigeria’s North-East and the broader Lake Chad region.

Further details on the operation are expected as mop-up activities continue in the area.
