Nine kidnapped passengers rescued in Kogi

Security forces have rescued nine kidnapped passengers along the Egume–Ankpa Expressway, following a swift response to an ambush by suspected armed criminals on Saturday evening.

 

Zagazola Makama gathered that the  incident occurred around 6:00 p.m. when unidentified miscreants attacked travellers and forced several vehicles off the highway into the bush.

 

Security team were promptly mobilised to the scene, where they found multiple abandoned vehicles and motorcycle without occupants.

 

The  team quickly launched a search operation and successfully rescued nine kidnapped victims, including two drivers, from the surrounding forest area.

 

The abandoned vehicles were recovered to the station for further investigation.

 

A police  sources said a full-scale combing operation is currently ongoing in the area to locate any remaining victims and apprehend the fleeing suspects.
