NIS Mourns Former Comptroller General David Paradang

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced the passing of its former Comptroller General, David Shikfu Paradang, OFR, mni (rtd.), who died on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.

Paradang, who served as the 14th Comptroller General of the NIS, was described as a distinguished officer who made significant contributions to migration management and border security in Nigeria.

In a statement issued by the NIS Public Relations Officer, ACI AS Akinlabi, the service expressed deep condolences to the late officer’s family, friends, and colleagues.

“The Nigeria Immigration Service extends its deepest condolences to the family of the late Comptroller General, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. May his soul rest in perfect peace,” the statement read.

Paradang, during his tenure, was known for championing immigration reforms and improving border security operations across the country. His legacy remains a reference point in Nigeria’s migration governance.
