One Injured, Another Missing After Hoodlums Attack Two Brothers in Gombe

The Gombe State Police Command has launched a search for a 25-year-old man who went missing after armed hoodlums attacked him and his elder brother in Funakaye Local Government Area of the state.
The incident occurred at about 4:45 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Abuku village, Ribado Ward, Funakaye LGA.
According to a police source, the incident was reported to the Bajoga Police Division by Saiyo Umaru, 50, of Dukkul village, Kwami Local Government Area, at about 11:00 a.m.
The complainant told the police that his two sons, identified as Tukur Saiyo Umaru, 30, and Manu Alhaji Umaru, 25, were attacked by a group of hoodlums armed with sticks and machetes.
During the attack, Tukur sustained an injury to his head, while his younger brother, Manu, reportedly disappeared during the incident.
Following the report, police personnel visited the scene as part of preliminary investigations.
The injured victim was subsequently taken to Ribado Clinic, where he received medical treatment and was later discharged.
The police said they have commenced investigation into the incident and intensified efforts to locate the missing victim and identify and apprehend those responsible for the attack.
