A middle-aged man, Adamu Sale, has been killed by suspected assailants while attempting to mediate a boundary dispute between two communities in Ibi Local Government Area of Taraba State.

Zagazola Makama report that the incident occurred on Sunday at about 3:30 p.m. in the Gindin Kegh-Burgusi farmland area, according to local sources.

Sale was reportedly acting on behalf of the village head of Sarkin Kudu when he intervened in a longstanding land disagreement involving the former Chief of Gindin Kegh, one Nandom Daniel.

Sources said that two masked men emerged from a nearby bush and attacked Sale with dangerous weapons, killing him on the spot. The assailants escaped before help could arrive.

Security operatives have visited the scene and launched a manhunt for the fleeing attackers.
