One killed, one escapes as troops respond to isolated attack in Plateau

Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) under Sector 6 have responded to an isolated attack on two civilians in Sabon Gida village, Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources said the incident was reported at about 6:30 a.m. on April 20, prompting troops to swiftly mobilise to the scene.
On arrival, the troops discovered the corpse of one of the victims bearing machete injuries, while the second victim was reported to have escaped during the attack.
The sources said preliminary investigation had commenced to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and to identify those responsible.
They added that patrols had been intensified in the area to prevent further attacks, while the security situation remains calm but under close monitoring.
