Police arrest notorious kidnap suspect in Rivers

The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a notorious kidnap suspect believed to be behind several abductions in Etche Local Government Area of the state.
Sources said that the suspect was apprehended following a tipoff to operatives of Okehi Division.
“On Aug. 25, 2025, at about 2:20 p.m., our operatives traced and arrested one Chima Maraizu of Umuayagu Community, Etche. He is a dreaded member of a kidnapping syndicate terrorising the Etche axis,” the sources said.
The sources added that the suspect was in custody undergoing investigation while efforts were ongoing to arrest other members of the gang and recover their operational weapons.
