The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested a notorious member of a one-chance syndicate linked to the kidnap and murder of a 23-year-old fuel attendant, Miss Grace Godwin, in Abuja.
Zagazola gathered that operatives of the Scorpion Squad, led by ACP Victor O. Godfrey, arrested the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Kabiru Abdullahi from Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State, following credible digital and reconstructive intelligence.
The sources recalled that the victim, Miss Godwin, boarded a commercial taxi on July 11, 2025, which turned out to be operated by a one-chance gang. After demanding ransom from her relatives, the suspects reportedly killed her and dumped her body along Alex Ekwueme Street, Jabi. Her remains were discovered the following day.
During interrogation, Abdullahi confessed that he used a nylon bag to strangle the victim after she bit his finger, adding that the gang feared she might recognize them since they lived in the same Dape village.
The suspect also implicated one Solomon Tanko, 35, who had earlier been arrested at Life Camp on October 8, 2025, for a similar case of one-chance robbery and murder.
Police said both suspects have confessed to the crime, while a golden-coloured Toyota Camry (pencil light) used in the operation has been recovered.
The sources said that the FCT Commissioner of Police directed that the investigation be expanded and consolidated to uncover all other syndicate members involved.
