Operatives of the Nasarawa State Police Command have arrested six suspected internet fraudsters during a midnight raid on a hideout in Rugan Madaki, recovering a Makarov pistol, laptops, mobile phones and several ATM cards.

Police sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation was carried out at about 2:45 a.m. on July 15 by a patrol team attached to Vintage Division following actionable intelligence on the activities of suspected cybercrime suspects in the area.

The sources said the officers stormed the hideout and successfully arrested six suspects believed to be involved in internet-related fraud.

A search conducted at the premises led to the recovery of one Makarov pistol, four GSM phones, nine laptops and multiple ATM cards suspected to have been used in their alleged fraudulent activities.

The suspects were taken into custody along with the recovered exhibits for further investigation.

Police sources said efforts are ongoing to determine the ownership of the recovered firearm, establish the extent of the suspects’ involvement in cybercrime and ascertain whether they are linked to any other criminal activities.

The Nasarawa State Police Command said the investigation is ongoing, while the suspects are expected to be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
