Police Arrest Suspect Over Armed Robbery in Yobe, Others at Large

Police in Yobe State have arrested one suspect in connection with an alleged armed robbery attack on a commercial motorcyclist in Tarmuwa Local Government Area of the state.
Police sources said the incident was reported on May 3 at about 3:30 p.m. when Haruna Ardo Machido of Lantewa village lodged a complaint at the Tarmuwa Police Division.
The sources disclosed that the victim reported that on April 28 at about 6:45 p.m., he conveyed a passenger, identified as Umaru Ibrahim, 20, from Lantewa village to Dangel hamlet.
According to the sources, upon reaching a bush area, the suspect allegedly conspired with three others who attacked the motorcyclist with cutlasses and sticks, inflicting injuries on him.
They added that the assailants allegedly robbed the victim of ₦250,000 and a Tecno keypad phone before fleeing the scene.
The sources said police operatives swiftly swung into action, leading to the arrest of Umaru Ibrahim, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects.
They noted that the case is under investigation and further developments will be communicated.
