Police arrest suspect with two fabricated SMG rifles in Plateau

The Plateau State Police Command has arrested a 24-year-old suspect, Mark Ibrahim Dalyop, for unlawful possession of firearms during a routine patrol operation.

 

The arrest occurred on Tuesday night at about 9 p.m. while a police patrol team was conducting a stop-and-search operation along the Vom–Kuru axis in Jos South Local Government Area.

 

Sources said that the  suspect, a resident of Sabon Layi Kuru, was apprehended while riding a motorcycle with two locally fabricated submachine guns (SMGs) in his possession.

 

The sources  said a discreet investigation has commenced to unravel the source of the weapons and to apprehend other members of the suspected criminal syndicate.
