Police Arrest Suspects in Connection with Inspector’s Murder in Niger State

The Niger State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with separate cases of culpable homicide, including the fatal stabbing of a police inspector.

 

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that, one of the suspects, identified as Alhaji Sabo, was tracked and arrested in Ilorin, Kwara State, on March 3, 2025. Sabo was wanted for the stabbing of Inspector Musa Nasiru, who was attacked in Mashegu Local Government Area on February 4, 2025. 

 

He has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.

 

In a separate development, the police also confirmed the arrest of Buhari Danjuma, a fugitive wanted for another case of culpable homicide. Danjuma, who had been on the run, was apprehended on March 4, 2025.

Danjuma, 22, had allegedly stabbed a vigilante member, Lawali Mohammed, to death in Wushishi.

 

It was gathered that the  suspect’s father, Mallam Danjuma Mohammed, had reported his son’s unruly behavior to a vigilante member and requested his arrest for disciplinary measures. However, in the process of arresting him at about 11:30 p.m. on March 3, the suspect pulled out a sharp object and stabbed Mohammed in the chest.

 

The injured victim was rushed to General Hospital Wushishi, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
