Police Bust Baby Factory in Lagos, Rescue 10 Victims

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have uncovered an illegal baby factory in the Ijegun area of the state, rescuing ten victims and arresting three suspects in the process.
Police sources told Zagazola Makama that the Command’s Tactical Team based at Ijora Olopa acted on credible intelligence and stormed a residential building located at No. 28 Afolabi Taiwo Street, Afurugbin, Ijegun, at about 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2025.
The police sources confirmed that the operator of the facility, one Mariam Vincent, 35, was arrested alongside two accomplices identified as Orie Ruth, 23, and Ujunwa Ifeanyi, 18.
The victims rescued from the location include seven women – Precious Samuel (24), Magdalene Edet (25), Isamade Adaobi Precious (23), Solomon Princess (22), Uchenna Ifeanyi (25), Amaka Okeke (26) – and three children: Destiny Solomon (7), Miracle Sunday (5), and Success Promise (2).
Preliminary investigation revealed that the victims were abducted from various parts of Lagos State for the purpose of operating a baby factory. During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to the crime.
Police sources said that investigation is ongoing to uncover the full extent of the operation and arrest other accomplices.
