Police confirm killing of herder, arrest suspect in Nasarawa

The Police Command in Nasarawa has confirmed the killing of a Fulani man in Akelelu community, Jenkwe Development Area, while one suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama on Thursday that the incident occurred on Wednesday at about 4:30 p.m.
The sources said the Divisional Police Officer in Jenkwe received a distress call from one Alhaji Karimu Mohammed, reporting the discovery of a corpse in the bush near Akelelu forest.
“Police patrol team immediately mobilised to the scene where the body of a Fulani adult was found dead. The corpse was evacuated to the station, photographed, and later released to the family for burial according to Islamic rites.
“One Likita Ayuba, who sustained injuries during the incident, was rescued and taken to the Specialist Hospital Lafia for treatment.
“A suspect identified as Nengak Nenpan of Akelelu community has been arrested in connection with the case,”said the sources.
