Police foil banditry, recover motorcycles in Katsina
The Katsina State Police Command has foiled an attempted banditry operation and recovered three operational motorcycles used by the suspects in Dutsinma Local Government Area of the state.
It was gathered that the incident occurred in the early hours of April 30, when police personnel on patrol intercepted the suspected armed bandits along Yanshantina village.
A security source told Zagazola that the patrol team, led by a Superintendent of Police from Dutsinma Division, engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel and subdued them.
“As a result of the operation, three Boxer motorcycles used by the suspected bandits were recovered,” the source said.
He added that although some of the suspects managed to escape into the nearby bush, police operatives were sustaining efforts to apprehend the fleeing criminals.
