Police Foil three Bandits Attacks in Katsina, Neutralize Suspect

The Katsina State Police Command has foiled three bandit attacks, neutralized a suspected bandit, and prevented the theft of motorcycles in separate operations across the state.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the first incident occurred at about 12:57 a.m. on Sunday when bandits attacked personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) stationed at the Federal Ministry of Agriculture Silo Grains Store along Dutsinma-Kurfi Road.
A distress call from CSC Rulwanu Abdullahi, the Divisional Officer of the NSCDC, alerted security operatives. In response, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Dutsinma swiftly mobilized a team with an Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) and engaged the attackers in a gun battle.
The officers repelled the attack and neutralized one suspected bandit, while others escaped with gunshot wounds into the bush.
Another Attack in Garo Village
Shortly after, at about 1:20 a.m., the police received another distress call was reported that another group of bandits had silently invaded Garo Village. Before security forces could arrive, the bandits kidnapped two residents: Sahu Danyaro (45, female) and Kallah Sarkin Noma (60, male)
The attackers also shot and killed a 35-year-old man, Basiru Babangida, before escaping. Security operatives have launched a manhunt for the kidnappers in a bid to rescue the victims.
Foiled Motorcycle Theft in Danja LGA
In another separate incident at 1:00 a.m., armed men stormed Balmo Village in Kahutu, Danja LGA, and attempted to steal four Boxer motorcycles from the residence of Garba Nuhu (40).
Upon receiving the report, the DPO of Danja swiftly mobilized a response team. The operatives dislodged the criminals, preventing the theft. The assailants fled into the nearby bush, and efforts are ongoing to track and arrest them.
The Katsina State Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to sustained security operations across the state to curb banditry and other criminal activities.
