Sector 3 Commander urges troops to remain focused, resilient and avoid being distracted

The Commander Sector 3 Operation HADIN KAI, Major General Abdulsalami Abubakar has charged the officers and soldiers of 19 Brigade Cross Kauwa Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State to always remain focused and highly resilient to all forms of distraction capable of affecting their ability to discharge their duties professionally in line with global best practices.
The Senior officer stated this while delivering his speech as the Special Guest of Honour at the just concluded Headquarters 19 Brigade, 101 and 123 Special Forces Battalions end of the the year 2022 combined West African Social Activities held at the Headquarters 19 Brigade Car Park Cross Kauwa.
He further reiterated the need for all Nigerian Army personnel to maintain the core values of the Nigerian Army which includes loyalty, selfless service, courage, discipline, integrity and to be professional at all times in order to sustain Nigerian democracy.
Maj Gen AE Abubakar commended the Commander 19 Brigade, Brigadier General Ernest Orakwe and the Commanding Officers of 101 and 123 Special Forces Battalions, officers and soldiers for their relentless effort, hard work, resilience and dedication to duty.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Commander 19 Brigade, Brig Gen EA Orakwe stated that WASA provides a forum for showcasing the cultural background of officers, soldiers from different rich and diverse heritage. The Brigade commander thanked the Sector 3 Commander for his continuous and unflinching support which the Brigade has always relied on most especially in trying times. He further stated that the "Headquarters 19 Brigade relocated to Cross Kauwa on 20 October 2022. Since then, it has continued to entrench peaceful co-existence with Cross Kauwa community and indeed all communities within boundary"
Brig Gen EA Orakwe asserted that the Brigade recorded tremendous milestone in year 2022 by creating enabling environment for farmers to go about their businesses without threats to lives and economic activities.
The Brigade Commander affirmed that through continues conduct of robust offensive operations, the Brigade restored the confidence of the locals who were scattered in different Internally Displaced Persons Camps to return to their ancestral homes.
This he said has drastically increased the population of Cross Kauwa which was put at approximately 1200 as at October 2022 to 4300 and still counting as at January this year.
Brig Gen Ernest Orakwe assured that arrangements have been put in place to provide adequate security support for the citizens to freely exercise their civic duties during the forth coming elections. He also stated that personnel under his command remains apolitical and will ensure the neutrality and sanctity of the electioneering process.
The social event which was highly attended by the inhabitants and guests also featured the commissioning of 19 Brigade Base Camp by the Special Guest of Honour, cultural dances from the following tribes, Kanuri, Igbo, Fulani, Yoruba, Hausa, Kwayam, and Wanzam. There was also the dembe boxing competition and Tug of war. Also Commander's award to best soldier for outstanding performance was featured. Some other dignitaries that graced the occasion include the Commander Sector 3 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Ibrahim Abbas, the Commander Sector 3 Signal Brigade, Brigadier General Olutayo Adesuyi, the commanding officer 101 Special Forces Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Ribomtop Kefas, the Commanding officer 123 Special Forces Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Abidemi Aderibigbe, Lawanis Bulamas and host of others.
