Security forces repel bandit attack, rescue kidnap victims in Katsina

Security forced in Katsina have repelled a bandit attack in Sabon Masallachi Village, Ketare Ward of Kankara Local Government Area, rescuing five kidnapped victims and recovering rustled cattle.
Security forces told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred when armed bandits invaded the village and abducted Abdullahi Danzaria, 40, Musbahu Ibrahim, 30, Rakiya Yusuf, 40, Hauwau Ahmadu, 30, and Sailuba Ahamad, 25.
The attackers also rustled three cows before security operatives responded.
The troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA led a joint patrol team that blocked the bandits’ expected exit routes and engaged them in a gun battle.
The bandits were forced to retreat into the forest, abandoning three motorcycles. All kidnapped victims and the rustled cows were rescued unhurt.
