The Police in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have rescued a kidnap victim, Mr. Chukwuemeka Ahamefuna Emmanuel, who was abducted from his residence at Alheri Estate via Jedo along Airport Road.
Zagazola learnt that the incident occurred on Tuesday at about 12:20 p.m. when armed men broke into the victim’s residence and whisked him away to an unknown destination.
Personnel from Aco Division, who responded promptly to the distress call, recovered four expended 7.62mm ammunition shells at the scene.
Following directives from the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, in collaboration with vigilantes and local hunters, tracked the kidnappers to Jiwa forested hills behind the Abuja International Airport using digital reconstructive analysis.
The sustained pressure on the abductors led to the successful rescue of the victim at about 11:05 p.m. He was immediately taken to Gwarinpa General Hospital for medical examination and treatment of minor injuries.
Manhunt for the fleeing suspects is ongoing, while investigation continues.
