Security officials arrest jailbreaker, suspected vandal in Jere LGA

Security forces attached to Operation Hadin Kai have rearrested a jailbreaker and suspected vandal in jere local government area.

 

Zagazola Makama gathered from sources that the suspect, bagoni tujja, 32, also known as awana, a resident of jere, was originally an inmate awaiting trial on rape charges at the medium security correctional centre in maiduguri. 

 

He  was also among those who escaped during the 2024 maiduguri flood disaster, which forced many inmates to break out of custody.

 

Preliminary investigations revealed that tujja was rearrested after a civilian joint task force (cjtf) member, attached to sector 2 in jere, apprehended him at about 12:30 p.m. on june 12, 2025.

 

At the time of his arrest, tujja was caught in the act of vandalising a borehole’s pumping machine a piece of community property owned by alhaji gudusu in kasuwan rakuma, jere.

 

The suspect would handed over back to the correctional service for their action.
