Security personnel foil armed attack on Opaha village in Benue

Security personnel in Benue have foiled an armed attack on Opaha village in Apa Local Government Area following a swift response to a distress call.
It was gathered that the incident occurred on Tuesday, May 7, at about 6 p.m. gunmen stormed the area shooting sporadically.
Upon receiving the distress call, the PMF operatives immediately proceeded to the village where residents, particularly some women, reported sighting armed men in the nearby bush.
The operatives swiftly moved into the bush, where they encountered and engaged the armed men in a gun duel.
Overwhelmed by the superior firepower, the armed men fled the scene. No villager was kidnapped or injured during the encounter.
The sources said that the Commissioner of Police, Zone 4, has commended the gallantry of the 80 PMF operatives and assured residents of Benue of the Command’s commitment to proactive policing and community safety.
