Security Stakeholders Hold Engagement Meeting in Bauchi, Distribute Fertilizers to Farmers

Stakeholders in Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro Local Government Areas of Bauchi State have convened a security and community engagement meeting aimed at consolidating peace efforts and ensuring a hitch-free farming season across the area.
The meeting, which held on June 6 at the Headquarters of Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area, was organised under Sector 8 (Sub-Sector 82) of Operation Peace (OPEP).
Military sources said the engagement brought together representatives of the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and Commander Operation Enduring Peace , Maj.-Gen. Folusho Oyinlola, who was represented by the Sub-Sector Commander.
Also in attendance were the Chairmen of Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro Local Government Areas, traditional and religious leaders, representatives of security agencies operating within the area, as well as community and youth leaders.
According to the sources, the meeting was convened to strengthen ongoing security arrangements and deepen collaboration among stakeholders in order to sustain peace and create a conducive environment for agricultural activities.
Discussions focused on enhancing synergy between communities and security agencies, with emphasis on early warning mechanisms, conflict prevention and peaceful coexistence among residents.
As part of efforts to support agricultural productivity and encourage farming activities, fertilizers were also distributed to farmers during the event.
Military authorities noted that such interventions are part of broader non-kinetic strategies aimed at addressing underlying causes of insecurity while promoting economic stability and community resilience.
Participants at the meeting reaffirmed their commitment to peaceful coexistence and pledged continued cooperation with security agencies to ensure a safe and productive farming season within the area of responsibility.
