Suspected ISSP Jihadists Kill 40, Destroy Vehicles in Attack on Supply Convoy in Mali

At least 40 civilians were reportedly killed and five vehicles destroyed when suspected Islamic State in the Sahel Province (ISSP) jihadists ambushed a supply convoy escorted by the military along the Ansongo-Gao axis in northern Mali.

Security sources confirmed that the attack occurred near Kobe, a volatile area frequently targeted by armed groups linked to ISSP and Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM).

The convoy, carrying essential supplies, was reportedly traveling under military escort when it came under heavy gunfire. The assailants used explosive devices and automatic weapons, setting five vehicles ablaze and killing dozens of civilians.

“The attackers struck suddenly, opening fire from strategic positions along the route. The military escort attempted to repel the assault, but the intensity of the ambush resulted in heavy casualties,”said a source.
