A suspected wife of an Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorist, alongside her three children, has surrendered to troops of the Nigerian Army in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.

Security sources said the woman surrendered at about 9:40 a.m. on October 25, 2026, to troops of 202 Battalion at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Abbaram.

Preliminary information revealed that the woman claimed to have fled with her children from a terrorist enclave in Zarmari village, around Bula Daloye in Bama Local Government Area.

She reportedly said she left the enclave in an attempt to reunite with her husband, whom she believed had earlier surrendered to troops.

The woman and her three children are currently in military custody for further investigation and necessary action.

The surrender comes amid ongoing military operations aimed at encouraging the defection of insurgents and their family members, while facilitating the screening and processing of individuals emerging from terrorist enclaves in the North-East.
