Troops of Sector 1, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), have foiled an attempted kidnapping and rescued an injured victim at the ECWA Staff Quarters in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The incident occurred at about 2030 hours on Sept. 19, 2026, when troops responded to a distress report over the attempted abduction of Mr Theophilius Geowam Dakup at his residence.

According to security sources, the troops’ swift intervention forced the suspected kidnappers to abandon their mission and flee the area.

The troops subsequently rescued Dakup, who sustained injuries during the incident, and immediately evacuated him to Bingham University Teaching Hospital in Jos for medical attention.

Meanwhile, troops have intensified patrols and are dominating the general area in an effort to track possible escape routes and prevent further criminal activity.
