Three Police Personnel Killed, Two Injured in Attack in Kwara

Three police personnel have been killed and two others injured following an attack by suspected criminals in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Security sources said the incident occurred at about 1:10 a.m. on May 1 at Tenobo village.
The sources disclosed that troops of 22 Brigade, in collaboration with the Nigeria Police, forest guards and vigilantes, responded to a distress call on the attack.
According to the sources, upon arrival at the scene, it was discovered that three police personnel had been killed, while two members of the Mobile Police (MOPOL) sustained injuries.
They added that the injured personnel were evacuated alongside the deceased to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital for medical attention and further procedures.
The sources further said the attackers carted away two AK-47 rifles and one riot gun during the incident.
They noted that security operations have been intensified in the area to track down the perpetrators and recover the stolen weapons.
