Troops Arrest 11 Suspected Cultists in Benue Raid

Troops of Sector 1 under the Operation Whirl Stroke have arrested 11 suspected cultists during a raid on a criminal hideout in Makurdi, the Benue State capital.
The operation, carried out at about 0230 hours on June 20, targeted a suspected criminal enclave in the North Bank general area of Makurdi in Benue State.
Military sources said the troops stormed the location following credible intelligence on cult-related activities in the area and arrested the suspects without resistance.
Items recovered from the suspects include four mobile phones, one woodland camouflage vest, one combat short, and other sundry materials believed to be linked to their activities.
The suspects and recovered exhibits are currently in custody for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Authorities said operations under Operation Whirl Stroke would continue to target criminal hideouts and cult-related networks within the North Central region.
