Troops of Sector 1, Sub-Sector 12, have arrested 11 suspected kidnappers during a raid operation conducted in parts of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The operation was launched at about 5:40 a.m. on September 19, 2026, following the recent kidnapping and subsequent release of Mrs Juliana Goyang and 11-year-old Master Idumafa Amupitan in the Gwafan community of Jos North.

According to security sources, troops conducting a manhunt for the kidnappers raided suspected criminal hideouts around Shere, Gwafan and Maza Hills.

During the operation, the troops arrested 11 suspects for questioning and further investigation.

The two rescued victims subsequently identified Sa’du Abdullahi, Abdullahi Ahmad, Sabi’u Likita and Abdullahi Ya’u as persons allegedly involved in their abduction.

The suspects remain in military custody and are undergoing further investigation to establish their individual roles in the kidnapping and determine whether they are connected to other criminal activities in the area.

The operation is part of intensified efforts by security forces to dismantle kidnapping networks operating around Jos and its environs and prevent further abductions.
