Troops Arrest Another Suspected IPOB/ESN Kingpin in Ebonyi, Recover Rifle and Ammunition

Troops of Sector 2, Operation UDO KA (OPUK), have arrested another suspected member of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Eastern Security Network (ESN) following intelligence-led operations in Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
Security sources said the arrest was made at about 1:40 p.m. on April 28 at Onuebonyi area following preliminary interrogation of a previously arrested suspected commander identified as Chinedu Igautu, also known as “Calamity,” who was apprehended alongside four others on April 21.
The sources disclosed that the interrogation led troops to another suspected kingpin, identified as Chisom Agashi Ogadego, popularly known as “Baron,” who was subsequently arrested.
According to the sources, the suspect reportedly confessed to being a member of IPOB/ESN and admitted involvement in several criminal activities within the general area.
The troops also recovered one AK-47 rifle, two magazines, and 17 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition during the operation.
They added that efforts are ongoing to track and arrest other fleeing members of the group, while operations in the area continue to deny criminal elements freedom of action.
