Troops arrest Boko Haram suspect linked to bridge destruction, attacks

Troops working with local hunters have arrested a Boko Haram insurgent linked to multiple attacks in Adamawa and Borno States.
The suspect, identified as Ahmadu Buba, 31, was arrested on Sept. 24 in Garkida, Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa.
Military authorities said Buba confessed to joining Boko Haram in April 2025 and admitted involvement in the destruction of Mandahuma Bridge in June as well as the August attack on Mandaragirau Sabon Gari Kimba.
The arrest followed sustained intelligence-driven operations under Operation Desert Sanity IV.
