Troops of Operation HADIN KAI, supported by Civilian Joint Task Force and hunters, have dismantled a kidnap syndicate that had been terrorising residents in Magumeri area of Borno State.
The operation on Sept. 25 led to the arrest of two suspects, Isa Adamu (20) and Lawal Adamu (45), linked to the abduction of one Mallam Kolo Bukar in August.
The gang had collected a ransom of N5 million and later demanded an additional N10 million before troops moved in.
Recovered items included one AK-47 rifle, an empty magazine and 10 empty rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, a Toyota Land Cruiser pickup, cash totalling N228,600, identity documents, a mobile phone, and other sundry items.
The army said the raid had restored calm to the Bornu Yesu Gen axis.
