Troops arrest five suspected criminals in Jos East

Troops of Sector 1, Operation ENDURING PEACE, have arrested five suspected criminals during a raid on identified criminal hideouts in Jos East Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The operation was conducted on Monday, Sept. 7, 2026, as part of ongoing efforts by the security forces to disrupt criminal activities and maintain peace across the Joint Operations Area.
A military source told Zagazola Makama that troops of Sub-Sector 12 conducted a raid on identified hideouts of criminal elements in the Laminga and Sabon Gari areas of Jos East.
During the operation, the troops arrested five suspects identified as Musa Yusuf, 23; Ibrahim Mohammed, 18; Anas Mohammed, 38; Musa Yusuf, 24; and Ibrahim Mohammed, 27.
The suspects were subsequently profiled for further investigation and appropriate action.
The operation forms part of sustained efforts by troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE to identify and disrupt criminal networks operating within Plateau State and prevent them from threatening residents and communities.
Meanwhile, troops have continued routine patrols across the Joint Operations Area, with particular attention to schools, places of worship and other critical national infrastructure.
The military said the patrols were aimed at safeguarding vulnerable locations, deterring criminal activities and providing a secure environment for residents to go about their lawful activities.
The morale and fighting efficiency of the troops remain satisfactory as operations continue across the theatre.
