Troops Arrest Five Suspected Terrorists After Attack on Farmers in Benue

Troops of Sector 1, Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have arrested five suspected terrorists following an attack on farmers in Torkula general area of Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.
Security sources said the incident occurred at about 3:00 p.m. on April 27 when troops responded to distress information regarding an attack on farmers in the area.
The sources disclosed that troops swiftly mobilised to the scene and apprehended five suspects linked to the incident.
According to the sources, the attackers also destroyed one motorcycle during the attack before fleeing the area.
They added that the suspects are currently in custody for further interrogation and investigation, while troops have intensified patrols and surveillance in the general area to prevent further attacks on farming communities.
