Troops Arrest Six Suspected Terrorists, Recover Arms in Nasarawa

Troops of Sector 2, Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have arrested six suspected terrorists and recovered arms in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
Security sources said the operation, conducted on April 24, followed actionable intelligence received by troops deployed at Masaka and Karshi.
According to the sources, the troops trailed and apprehended one suspect at about 11:30 a.m. in the Karshi general area.
“During preliminary interrogation, the suspect led troops to a suspected terrorist enclave where five additional suspects were arrested,” the source said.
Items recovered during the operation include one locally fabricated pistol, three cartridges, and other sundry materials.
The suspects, along with the recovered items, are currently in custody for further investigation and necessary action.
The operation is part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks and enhance security in Nasarawa and adjoining areas.
