Troops Rescue Kidnap Victim in Benue, Hand Over to Police

Troops of Sector 1, Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), in collaboration with the Benue State Civil Protection Guards, have rescued a kidnapped victim in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of the state.
Security sources said the operation followed a report of kidnapping activities at about 3:00 p.m. on April 24 in Mbakange community, Mbache Council Ward.
The troops, deployed from Tor Donga, swiftly mobilised to the area alongside the local security outfit.
“On sighting the approaching troops, the kidnappers abandoned their victim and fled the scene,” the source said.
The rescued victim was subsequently handed over to the Nigeria Police for further necessary action.
