Troops of 82 Division Garrison, operating under Operation UDO KA, have arrested a suspect and recovered a pump-action rifle alongside ₦2 million suspected ransom money during a raid operation in Enugu State.

Security sources said the operation was carried out at about 11:00 a.m. on April 14 at Adani in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State, following intelligence from a Department of State Services (DSS) operative.

According to the sources, the ransom payment for a kidnapped victim was electronically tracked to a location about 32 minutes’ drive from the troops’ position.

Acting on the intelligence, the troops reportedly stormed the identified apartment and apprehended the suspect’s brother.

Items recovered from the premises included one pump-action rifle and the sum of ₦2,000,000 suspected to be ransom proceeds.

The sources added that the suspect and recovered items are currently in military custody for further investigation and necessary action.

Security agencies said follow-up operations are ongoing to track other members of the criminal network.
