Troops arrest suspected IPOB leader, recover vehicle and phones in Delta

Troops of 63 Brigade Garrison under Joint Task Force South-South Operation Delta Safe have arrested a suspected IPOB leader and kidnapping kingpin in Delta State.
Security sources said the suspect was apprehended at about 12:10 p.m. on April 13 at Ugbolu Illah community in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State following credible intelligence.
According to the sources, the suspect had reportedly fled his camp in Okotomi after a military raid conducted in January 2026.
The troops acted on fresh intelligence and successfully tracked and arrested him in the community.
One vehicle and two mobile phones were recovered from the suspect during the operation.
The sources added that the suspect and recovered items are currently in custody for further investigation and necessary action.
