Troops arrest suspected IPOB member waving Biafra flag in Abia

Troops of 144 Battalion have arrested a suspected member of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) while on routine patrol in Aba South Local Government Area of Abia State.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspect was apprehended at about 4:40 p.m. on Sept. 4, 2026, along the CKC general area of Asa Road.
The sources said the suspect was allegedly waving a Biafra flag and shouting, “Biafra will be free,” when he was apprehended by the troops.
The suspect is currently in the custody of the troops for further investigation and appropriate action.
