Troops of 222 Battalion (Motorised), in collaboration with 21 Military Intelligence Regiment (MIR), have arrested a suspected female collaborator of ISWAP/JAS terrorists during an intelligence-led operation in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the arrest was made at about 6:30 a.m. on May 5, 2026, following credible intelligence indicating a planned meeting between a terrorist element and a suspected collaborator in the Tesha general area of Bama.

The sources said troops swiftly mobilised to the location and apprehended the suspect without resistance.

The suspect is currently in military custody and undergoing preliminary interrogation to determine the extent of her involvement in terrorist logistics and support activities.

Military authorities said the arrest forms part of ongoing intelligence-driven operations aimed at disrupting ISWAP/JAS support networks and enhancing security across the North-East theatre.
