Troops Arrest Suspected ISWAP Collaborator in Monguno

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have arrested a suspected collaborator of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Monguno Local Government Area of Borno State.
A military source said the suspect, identified as Abukar Abbagana, 30, was arrested at about 1:27 p.m. on June 13 following an intelligence-led operation at Charlie 4 area of Monguno.
The source disclosed that the arrest was the result of coordinated efforts between intelligence operatives, troops of the 19 Brigade Garrison, and members of the CJTF.
According to the source, items recovered from the suspect included a spraying jerrycan, three bottles of pesticide and other sundry materials suspected to be linked to terrorist support activities.
The suspect is currently in the custody of Headquarters Sector 3 Military Intelligence Brigade (MIB) for further investigation and necessary action.
The arrest forms part of ongoing operations by Operation Hadin Kai aimed at dismantling terrorist support networks and disrupting insurgent activities across the North-East.
The military source added that the security situation across the theatre remains calm but unpredictable, while troops continue to maintain high morale and operational readiness.
