Troops arrest suspected terror kingpin in Adamawa

Troops of 23 Brigade, Garrison, have arrested a suspected terror kingpin during a cordon and search operation in Toungo Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
Security sources said the operation was carried out at about 4:15 p.m. on April 2 at Mansur village, following actionable intelligence from the 23 Military Intelligence Regiment.
The sources disclosed that the operation was conducted in collaboration with members of the hunters’ association in the Tambaya Toungo axis.
According to preliminary investigations, the suspect is a notorious kidnapper and a member of a criminal group allegedly responsible for a recent attack on troops’ location in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State, which reportedly resulted in casualties and loss of equipment.
The sources added that the suspect is currently in military custody and is undergoing further interrogation.
Security operations in the area are ongoing to dismantle criminal networks and prevent further attacks on communities and security forces.
